Intelligence vs. Wisdom: Update

I cross-posted Intelligence vs. Wisdom to LessWrong.

Less than four hours later, it’s been downvoted below the threshold.

Check out some of the über rational comments/criticisms here:

  • a suggestion to remove the distinction between wisdom and intelligence,
  • a complaint that equating intelligence with cross-domain optimization power sure seems like confusing terminology with an appeal to common sense usage – despite the fact that I was using a consensus definition, and
  • a strawman argument that my argument against multi-goal intelligences didn’t apply to paperclip maximizers when I addressed them two paragraphs above with a totally different argument
